Haskell Small's Game of Go
About this event
In 1987, composer, pianist, music teacher and go enthusiast, Haskell "Hal" Small, composed a musical piece based on an 1853 game between Honinbo Shusaku and Ota Yuzo. Organizer of the first US Go Congress and founding board member of the National Go Center, Hal's deep appreciation of go is felt in this profound piece. In addition to a viewing of the piece, Justin Teng, 6-Dan, will give a lecture on the 1853 game, itself.
